No one should ever FEAR an elected official in any government, let alone American politicians. They are elected to represent their constituents and to serve the interests of the communities which chose them; it’s worth occasionally reminding the American electorate as well representatives.
Bearing in mind this important and integral structure of our government, it was both appalling and infuriating to see the following exchange take place on Twitter between a representative in the U.S. Congress and a politically active and popular conservative high school student.
Democrat Representative, Nydia Velázquez, of New York’s 7th Congressional District.
This is unacceptable from anyone in elected office; no matter their party affiliation. Aside from conservative news outlets and right-leaning social media, there has been little to no reporting on this issue – and this is an issue.
